President – John Santorum

As the President, John oversees all aspects of the non-profit successes, partnerships, and strategy. John previously held the Treasurer position and is committed to enhancing the organization's growth and achievements.  

John was born in the beautiful islands of the Philippines, grew up in Virginia, and traveled to Hawaii to continue his education. His Coast Guard career began after earning a college scholarship and graduating from TRACEN Cape May Class WHISKEY-179.  John is a 2010 graduate of Chaminade University of Honolulu with a B.A. in Business Administration and Certificate in Entrepreneurship as well as a graduate of Officer Candidate School Class 1-11. He currently serves as the Assistance Branch Chief for the Domestic Port Security Eval Division at U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington D.C.

John loves his big family and caring culture. He is passionate about helping others and making the world a better place for future generations. 

Vice President – Rven Garcia

As Vice President, Rven advises and assist in the duties of the President. Rven facilitates the relevance, impact and priorities of the organization.

Rven is from the Aloha State - Hawaii. After graduating from CSU California Maritime with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and 3rd Assistant Engineer, he join the U.S. Coast Guard through Direct Commissioning. Currently stationed in PACAREA as the Marine Casualty Investigations Branch Chief, Rven's previous tours include: Sector Anchorage, Marine Safety Detachment American Samoa, Sector Portland and USCGC MORGENTHAU.

Rven is currently in pursuit of a Masters Degree and a Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner.

Secretary –Lawren Kanae  

As the Secretary, Lawren overseas all the administration and membership details. 

Lawren is an Active Duty enlisted member in the U.S. Coast Guard with over 13 years time in service.  She takes pride in knowing that FAPAC-USCG is actively working towards providing amazing opportunities for all Asian American Pacific Islanders and their dependents.  Lawren is also extremely committed to discovering ways that will help increase knowledge of the AAPI community throughout the Coast Guard.

Lawren is currently attending Columbia College in pursuit of an A.S. Human Services. She is Filipino/Hawaiian and is originally from the beautiful Aloha State, better known as Hawaii.  She enjoys spending as much `time as possible with her husband and children.

Treasurer – Angela Alonso 

As the Treasurer, Angela has the overall responsibility of the organization's  financial matters.

Angela currently works at Coast Guard Headquarters Office of Port and Facility. She was a prior Marine Safety Technician (MST) and her past assignments include Sector New York, International Ice Patrol and District 7. As a Reservist, Angela drilled at RIO St. Croix USVI, District 5, and NSFCC and was recalled for the Haiti Earthquake and Deepwater Horizon oil spill incidents.

Angela holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Old Dominion University, Masters Environmental Science from New Jersey Institute of Technology, and a Masters in Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Angela is proud of her unique heritage as she was originally from the Philippines and immigrated to the U.S. via U.S. Virgin Islands (St. Croix) - (a Filipina/Crucian/American). She is an avid runner and has completed more than 10 marathons.
